Hi, I am looking for an umbrella stroller for my daughter who just turned 2. We have a Peg Aria OH and I HATE IT, after a year the stickers fell off, the cupholder broke, the basket ripped and its downright embarassing to stroll her around in.
I need an umbrella stroller with a higher weight limit, and for taller toddlers as my DD is 36 pounds and 37 1/2 inches tall but still needs to rest during long trips. The stroller must have recline, easy manuevering, padded handles, and decent strorage. And I am not willing to spend more than 0 as I made that mistake with my first "brand name Italian" stroller!
So far these are the only ones I could find:
1) Baby Planet Solo Sport
2) Maclaren (seem too pricey and has tiny wheels)
3) Baby Rock Star of Esprit Candy (I cant find max weight though!)
Do you own any of these strollers? What do you like/dislike about them? Do you recommend any other umbrella strollers that would work in my situation? Any advice would be awesome! Thanks.
Ps Please don’t bother telling me my daughter should not be in an umbrella stroller as she already turned 2. You try carrying around a 36 pound sleeping toddler and see how pleasant that is!
Kleighs Mommy:
Unless you are a pediatrician, please do not give me medical advice on my daughter’s weight. Did you also fail to read that she is over 3 feet tall? She has been off the charts since birth in both weight and height. Our Pediatrician is not concerned and neither am I. My daughter is fed a healthy diet (organic for the most) part and is a very active toddler, if her weight was high and her stature short then there would be cause for concern.
Besides failing to answer my question, you made an very ignorant comment..if you do not have anything helpful to say then please refrain from assumptions.
For the record here is a size/height chart for a girl:
2 year old 30 inches 28.4 lbs
3 year old 33 inches 30.8 lbs
4 year old 37 inches 35.2 lbs
DD is 1/2 inch taller and 0.8 of a pound heavier than your average 4 year old girl.Just because she is a big/tall toddler does not mean she does not get tired like a normal 2 year old.
Could someone please give me STROLLER advice? Thanks!
