I just found out I’m pregnant and expecting my 2nd baby early next year. I already have a 2 year old, who will be 3 in May next year.
I’m getting ahead of myself here, but am already thinking about what stroller is best for the age group of kids I (will) have. And especially when handling a newborn!
I can’t have a bulky stroller/buggy because we live in a small town where streets and shop aisles are quite narrow. I’ve been looking at the Phil & Ted ones, but my concern is:
1) is it safe for a newborn to sit in the back like that?! It just looks really bad!
and
2) psychological impact of sitting in the back.
I will most likely carry my newborn in the baby carrier first (I have the baby bjorn and the ergo baby carrier), but as I experienced with my first, once they start getting too heavy, or I can’t carry them for long periods, eventually, she/he will go in that stroller.
Are there any mums out there with experience of strollers for kids who are almost 3 years apart?
Thanks for your help and advice.
I’m baffled by people who think that all 3 year olds are such angels that they just do as they are told and stick to mummy’s side all the time. 14 months old and not needing a stroller? Lady, you’re lucky!
My 2-3 year old is ridiculously independent and he’s quite happy to run off to explore, and he’s FAST. The only way to keep him next to me, is to have him in a stroller. We’re a very fit family – in fact, I run 10K events frequently – and I still can’t keep up with him! A stroller is the only way to make sure he doesn’t run off into the road or to a stranger.
