How long can a baby go without a stroller?

Wednesday, October 20th, 2010

So I found a reasonably priced stroller that I love.
but the manufacturer suggested age is 2 months. Would I be able to get by with just a sling for the first two months? It makes no sense to me to buy another stroller until then, unless I just get the incredibly cheap umbrella strollers but I’m not sure how great those are

How do I run in the rain/cold/snow with a stroller?

Tuesday, October 19th, 2010

Anyone have a Protect-a-Bub double cover? They look good, but the picture shows a stroller that looks like 2 umbrella strollers together.. not the 3 wheel double jogger that I would use. Any suggestions? Thanks!

What is the best lightweight stroller for a 2 year old?

Tuesday, October 5th, 2010

We have a Graco Quattro stroller now (we got the travel system that came with the infant seat). It’s been terrific, but it’s looking a bit worse for wear.

I’m thinking I might like a smaller, more lightweight stroller and I’ve been trying to notice them when we’re out. It seems like older toddlers (our son is two, but tall) look uncomfortable in umbrella strollers and there is often little or no footrest and no storage at all.

Anyone had good luck with a lightweight stroller for their toddler??
Sorry – forgot to add that maneuverability is important – otherwise we’ll just buy a full size one like we have now. Thanks!

How long does a double stroller usually last?

Saturday, October 2nd, 2010

My husband recently deployed and now I am left taking my 2 1/2 year old daughter and my 20month old son with me everywhere. I am wondering how long a double stroller might last, or should I maybe be looking to get a sit and stand stroller. We’ve been using those little single umbrella strollers that are like at target for about a year now. But since I’m alone that’s not going to cut it anymore.. Any suggestions?

do they make a small stroller, like the umbrella ones but that holds up to 40 lbs?

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

my sister has a baby, but he is big, already 35 lbs at 10 months, anyway, every time we go out she has to take his stroller out of her trunk and put it in my car, or get it out of the house, and we walk everyday, but also we go out to the store about 4x a week,

so i want to buy a little one for my house, she has a big one, so i want a small one, where could i buy one, the umbrella strollers i’ve seen only go up to 40 lbs. have you seen any other ones that go up above 40 lbs?

thank you very much
i appreciate your concern cathrl69 but he is perfectly healty, he is 38 inches long, and he is right on track, as his dr said at his appt 2 weeks ago, the fact that he was born 12 lbs 9 oz, probably makes him seem bigger than normal but he’s perfectly healthy, my sister grads this month with a masters in pediatrics, so it is under control. thank you for your concern though.

Is it true that you can't take even an umbrella stroller w/ you through the ride lines at WDW?

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010

My husband and I have a 21 mo and a 9 mo and we’re going to Walt Disney World in a few weeks. We have a pretty bulky double jogging stroller, that we don’t want to take, because it will be a pain to fold and store while riding on buses, etc. I’ve heard you have to "park" your strollers when you get in line for a ride. Does this mean that even if we bought two umbrella strollers, got in line with the strollers, then folded them up, and took them on the ride with us (say It’s a Small World, for example), we won’t be allowed to do so? I’m concerned about getting tired holding my 9 mo and my 21 mo getting impatient having to stand in line w/o a stroller. Any suggestions? Thanks! We probably will still get two umbrella strollers, but I’d like to know if we can take them through the ride lines. I do know about Fast Pass and Rider Swap. I’m also planning on bringing a baby carrier for my 9 mo, if I need it.

Is there such thing as an umbrella stroller that straps to your back?

Sunday, September 19th, 2010

We went out on a family excursion today with both the backpack and our toddler son walking himself. We walked pretty far so my son got tired and then after a while, my husband got tired of the backpack too. I kept wishing I had a cheap-o umbrella stroller and wondering if they make one that straps to your back, like from one shoulder to the opposite hip – sort of like a big sword, I guess? I looked at all the usual places online and all I can find is this large-looking padded bag for umbrella strollers. Has anyone ever seen a stroller like this (or maybe some kind of strap that enables this)?
I haz a bucket – that is perfect! (the other one mentioned was cool but seems to only be available in Australia and I’m in the U.S.) This is pretty much exactly what I was thinking of. And if its a decent stroller, I don’t mind spending the money – we have lots of bricks and cobblestone around here, I’m not sure a 15 dollar stroller would get very far…Thanks!

What is the best umbrella or lightweight stroller?

Friday, September 17th, 2010

I am looking for an umbrella or lightweight stroller that reclines and has a basket underneath. It would be nice to have a cup holder but that isn’t necessary. Also, easy to fold would be nice too. I have a 3 1/2 year old who weighs around 28 pounds and am tired of my big bulky strollers. All the cheap umbrella strollers I had with my older child I hated. I have looked at Maclaren but know they are kind of expensive. If someone can explain the difference between the high and low model Maclaren’s that would be great. I think I might buy one from a consignment shop. I also was looking at Chicco, Combi, and Graco. Which is the best?
I prefer umbrella over lightweight because it folds smaller but any info. is great! Thanks!

Suggestions for a good umbrella stroller?

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

I’m looking for a new stroller for my 10 month old. the only one we have is the one that came with our graco travel system and that’s just way too big to maneuver around. I can’t find anything on craigslist that we’re looking for so we’re going to buy new.

I need one that’s not too expensive I guess, and one that folds easily and compactly. The travel system one doesn’t even fit in my trunk.

I was thinking of a mid-range price one — does anyone have the chicco umbrella strollers?
like this:

I’d love a Maclaren but they’re too expensive. should I just suck it up and save up for it or do you like your less expensive kind just as much?

any insight on umbrella strollers is greatly appreciated. thanks.
thank you for your help guys!

artie lange fan, I was thinking about getting the BRUS umbrella stroller for a second – does it hold up well? the green is such a great color (online anyways).
